Start of air connection to Milan postponed
The Italian low-cost air carrier Volareweb has reported that at present it will not be establishing a direct air connection between Ljubljana and Milan. The Italian budget carrier's first flight had been anticipated on 20 May this year.
According to David Defini, director of new business at Volare s.p.a., the reasons for the postponement are restrictions with the air fleet and scheduling at Milano-Malpensa airport, making it impossible to set up an optimal schedule between Ljubljana and Milan that would generate the expected number of passengers.
Janez Krašnja, Director of the Commercial Sector at Aerodrom Ljubljana, d.d., said: We regret the decision, however, Aerodrom Ljubljana has done everything possible to make the route a reality. We expect another attempt to set the route out will happen in September. We hope that we will welcome Volareweb to our airport this year.
