Contract to build new hangar signed

Aerodrom Ljubljana CEO Zmago Skobir and GH Holding CEO Blaž Miklavčič have signed a contract on the planning and construction of a new hangar for aircraft ground handling equipment.

The contract has a value of 1.3 million euros. GH Holding was selected as contractor on the basis of a call for tenders. Planning began this month and construction is expected to begin in the second half of the year. By the end of the year the airport will thus have gained just under 2000 m2 of covered space for equipment such as baggage transporters, cargo platforms, stairs, utilities vehicles, shuttle buses and other aircraft ground handling equipment. The new building will provide urgently needed space for the storage and protection of airport equipment. To date this has been stored in various locations around the airport and frequently exposed to the elements. The building will be 78 metres long, 26 metres wide and 9 metres high. It will be situated between the existing road leading past the airport, the end of outdoor car park P2, and the main apron.
