Direct Budapest - Ljubljana service
We are glad to inform you that from Monday, 2 July 2001 you can fly directly from the Ljubljana Airport to the capital of Hungary, without having to change in Vienna or at an airport in Germany.
From 2 July 2001 travelling to the neighbour country will be faster and more comfortable. You may fly to Budapest by the Hungarian regional carrier Carpathian Air Transport (CAT) - a young, privately-owned airline, established in 1999. Besides a regular Budapest - Verona line, it presently services Ljubljana four times a week and is already negotiating to start a Budapest - Belgrade service.
The aircraft connecting both capitals is YAK 40, carrying 30 passengers. On Mondays and Wednesdays, it lands at the Ljubljana Airport at 9.00 a.m. and takes off for Budapest at 9.45 a.m. On Fridays and Sundays, the landing is scheduled for 4.45 p.m. and the take-off for 5.25 or 5.30 p.m. The flight takes one hour. As the main target group of CAT are businesspersons, the timetable was tailored primarily to their needs.
Once in Budapest you can continue your flight to New York the same day by boarding an aircraft of the Hungarian national carrier Malev. The airport of Budapest offers good connections to North and South America, Asia and Africa, with renowned carriers such as Swissair, Lufthansa, British Airways and KLM.
The tourist agency Kompas is the general agent of CAT for Slovenia, but air tickets are also available from other authorised agencies. Air tickets excluding airport taxes start from SIT 36,750 up.
