New multi-storey car park opening soon
The airports new multi-storey car park with office extension is growing rapidly. Ivan Zidar, CEO of contractors SCT, and Vinko Može, CEO of Ljubljana Airport, recently visited the site to see for themselves how the work is progressing. Work was due to be completed in the first month of 2005 but it now appears that construction will overrun by a couple of months. Nevertheless, we at the airport will make every effort to ensure that at least provisional parking is available in the new car park over the winter.
The new car park will have space for approximately 1,320 cars spread over four storeys. It will be fitted with the latest systems for detecting vacant parking spaces and directing drivers to them. The existing airport building will be connected to the car park building by means of a covered walkway particularly welcome in winter or on rainy days.
The office section of the new structure will provide just under 5,000 square metres of office space. It will include premises for the airport management and specialist services, traffic/technical sectors, car rental agencies, an airport clinic (also open to external users), a staff restaurant and a multipurpose conference hall seating over 100.
During construction of the new car park, special parking arrangements are in place at the airport. Parking is only possible in car park P2 (the car park on the right as you approach the airport). We apologise to all passengers and visitors for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.
