A dance to greet the summer at Ljubljana Airport

Passengers at Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport were looking forward to the summer and the adventures it brings last week. Aerodrom Ljubljana surprised departing passengers with an exuberant dance performance that symbolically inaugurated the season of summer travel.

In this period, most passengers passing through at Ljubljana Airport are looking forward to setting off on holiday. Since the first days of summer coincide with the end of the school year, passengers at the airport include many families with children and young travellers setting off to explore popular seaside destinations, the great capitals of Europe or perhaps some of the more hidden corners of the world. Last week Aerodrom Ljubljana served up a surprise to send them on their way. Passengers waiting for flights to London and Djerba were surprised by an exuberant performance by dancers from the Mojca Dance Studio. The airport's greeting to the summer was filmed for posterity – watch the video below.

More than 200 scheduled direct flights each week to 24 destinations

The 2014 summer timetable connects Ljubljana Airport with more destinations than last year. Adria Airways, the airline of Slovenia, has expanded its network of flights with services to Prague and Warsaw, and following a year's break, it is once flying to London (Gatwick). Foreign scheduled airlines are keeping their winter timetable destinations throughout the summer season. Finnair has returned to Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport after the winter break with flights to Helsinki. A new addition this summer is Air Serbia's daily service to Belgrade. Every day of the week passengers can also travel from Ljubljana to Istanbul with Turkish Airlines and to Paris with Air France. Low-cost carriers easyJet and Wizz Air maintain the same number of flights to London. The latter also continues its flights to Brussels. Montenegro Airlines is connecting Ljubljana with Podgorica during the summer season.
This summer eight scheduled airlines offer passengers more than 200 scheduled direct flights each week from Slovenia's main airport to 24 destinations. Once again this year there is also a wide range of charter flights on offer, above all to popular holiday destinations in the Mediterranean (Greece, Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia). A new charter carrier this year is Aegean Airlines, offering flights from Ljubljana to Rhodes from June to October.
