Spring at the airport
Karting - New season, new karts
A visit to the airport is an excellent idea, not only when you are travelling or seeing someone off: it can also be a great day out, whatever your age. Watching planes take off and land, the atmosphere of the airport, the bustle of departing and arriving travellers, and a choice of places to eat and drink all adds up to a special experience. Add to that a few laps in a state-of-the-art racing go-kart and you have the recipe for an unforgettable afternoon.
With the arrival of spring, this year's karting season has begun at the Prokarting circuit opposite the airport entrance. The new season brings a number of new features to guarantee adrenaline junkies and racing enthusiasts even more pleasure and even better fun.
For example, a brand-new fleet of karts from the prestigious German kart-maker Rimo, for the perfect racing experience. The new Alpha 2 karts are fitted with 390 cc, 13 hp engines, they are lighter, and offer better weight distribution. Other features include a unique dual-circuit hydraulic braking system and a specially designed transmission. They also have adjustable seats, which means they are also suitable for taller drivers. Further evidence of the quality of these karts is the fact that the same model is used at Michael Schumacher's karting centre in Kerpen, Germany. As well as new karts, the circuit boasts newly renovated infrastructure – including a remodelled track that is now 523 metres long – and an outdoor lap time display, to guarantee an unforgettable experience.
The karting centre is located on the main Brnik–Kranj road, in the car park opposite the main entrance to Ljubljana Airport. Ideal for anyone who is interested in discovering the secrets of racing and safe driving on a circuit that meets rigorous safety standards.
The karting centre is open from 12.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. For more details call 041 280 800 or 041 782 913 or write to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Welcome to our terraces
Although spring officially begins at the end of March, or with the arrival of the swallows, these days the clearest sign that spring has arrived is when bars and restaurants start setting up their outdoor terraces. We can assure you that spring is in full bloom at the airport: on fine days the terraces of the airport bars and restaurants – serving a diverse range of high-quality food and beverages – are full to capacity.
The spacious terrace of the Polet bar, in the Departures section of the terminal, is the perfect place to enjoy a wide choice of refreshing hot and cold beverages, tasty snacks and desserts. Sit in the sun and treat yourself to something tasty or refreshing as you wait for your flight or to see off family or friends. Opening hours are coordinated with the flight timetable.
The panoramic terrace of the Avionček bar, from where you can watch the planes taking off and landing every day, offers a special experience. Choose from a wide range of cakes, sandwiches and ice creams and an extensive selection of refreshing beverages. The panoramic terrace is open every day from 6.00 a.m. to midnight. The bar is open from 8.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. in May and from 7.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. in summer.
