First half of the year with excellent results
The Supervisory Board of Aerodrom Ljubljana met and discussed the company's business report for the first half of 2007. The operating results are excellent as the company recorded significant growth in traffic, income and profit during the first half of the year.
In the first six months of 2007, Aerodrom Ljubljana d.d. handled 640,888 passengers, an increase of 13% compared to the same period last year. Arrivals and departures rose by 18%, while cargo traffic rose by 58%.
Operating revenues of EUR 17,094 thousand were generated in the first half of the year, an increase of 33% compared to the first half of last year. Operating expenses rose by 19% compared to the same period last year, amounting to EUR 10,995 thousand. Operating profit, in the amount of EUR 6,098 thousand, was 70% higher than that generated last year. Net profit for the accounting period was EUR 7,495 thousand, an increase of 106%.
The value of one share nearly doubled in the first half of the year. The average share price in the accounting period was 93% higher than in the first half of 2006. Significant growth of transactions of AELG shares (224%) was recorded during the accounting period.
In the first half of 2007, Aerodrom Ljubljana invested EUR
15,297 thousand of its own funds for the construction of buildings,
the purchase of equipment for regular activities and computer
equipment. The company's primary investment activity was the
completion of the first phase of the new passenger terminal, which
opened on 9 July. In addition to the opening of the passenger
terminal one of the most significant events following the close of
the accounting period was changes to the company's Management
Board. On 4 July the term of Aerodrom Ljubljana d.d.'s previous
Management Board President expired. The company is now headed by
Zmago Skobir. As of the aforementioned day, Aerodrom Ljubljana d.d.
is once again governed by a two-member Management Board.
