EasyJet now flying from Ljubljana to Berlin

Low-cost airline easyJet’s Ljubljana-Berlin route is a new addition to the low-cost flights available at Ljubljana Airport. Passengers have a choice of three flights a week when flying to the German capital.

The first easyJet aircraft from Berlin Tegel landed at Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport on August 2. From now on the British low-cost airline will operate this service three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Passengers on the first departing and arriving flights were treated to cake served on cocktail sticks in the airline’s colours, while a photo call and video shoot with the crew was organised for the media on the apron.

The new service to Berlin Tegel, where easyJet has a base, offers passengers quick access to the centre of the city, and is therefore an excellent starting point for tourists in exploring the German capital, and for those on business trips. Passengers from Slovenia can now fly with easyJet to Germany’s largest city for as little as EUR 20.37*. Tickets can be purchased online at easyJet.com, on the easyJet mobile app, and in the GDS.

Berlin is the 34th destination served by scheduled flights from Ljubljana Airport, and the eighth new destination this year. The new destinations offered by Ljubljana Airport are in keeping with the growth in traffic and the development of the airport. Passenger numbers hit a record high last year, and traffic has also been growing this year. Passenger numbers in the first half of this year were up 15% on the same period last year.

In addition to easyJet, which flies to London Stansted, London Gatwick and Berlin Tegel, low-cost services are also provided by Wizz Air, which operates routes to London Luton and Brussels Charleroi, and by Transavia, which flies to Amsterdam. Low-cost airlines currently account for 20% of total passenger numbers at Ljubljana Airport. The three low-cost airlines operate a total of 25 flights a week from Ljubljana.
