Air France re-connects Slovenia with Paris
The revival of traffic at Ljubljana Airport continues. Air France is the sixth scheduled carrier to return to our airport. Slovenian and the French capital will initially be connected twice a week; flight frequencies will gradually increase.
We welcomed again Air France and its aircraft from Paris at Ljubljana Airport today at 11:28. 55 passengers arrived with the 100-seat Embraer 190 aircraft, and 42 passengers left at 12:25 for France. The city was just recently included on the list of epidemiologically safe countries.
"The return of renowned carriers and the establishment of connections with European destinations is important for the airport, the Slovenian market and the country's economy. Unfortunately, the list of safe countries to enter Slovenia without a 14-day quarantine currently includes only a few countries from which airlines operate regular flights to Ljubljana Airport. This is a key reason for a slower renewal of air traffic at Ljubljana Airport than expected. We wish the revival of air traffic to be as soon as possible, supported by encouraging solutions and promotion of Slovenia as an air destination, otherwise we risk creating an additional gap in Slovenia's air connectivity even after the end of the pandemic," said MSc Janez Krašnja, Head of Airline Management at Fraport Slovenija.
After the interruption, when air passenger traffic was completely stopped, flights to our airport have already been resumed by:
• Air Serbia (twice a week to Belgrade),
• Montenegro Airlines (five times a week to Podgorica),
• Lufthansa (six times a week to Frankfurt),
• Wizz Air (twice a week at Charleroi, Belgium),
• Transavia (three times a week to Amsterdam).
As early as Monday, flights to Brussels will be resumed by Brussels Airlines, on July 1 Turkish Airlines is scheduled to start flying to Istanbul, and a day later Windrose will start flying to Kiev.
Airport security measures
Ljubljana Airport has taken a number of preventive measures to protect the health of passengers and employees, which reduce the possibility of the spread of infections. We recommend that passengers familiarize themselves with them before arriving at the airport so that they can start their journey at the airport safely, pleasantly and without worries.
