For the purpose of containing the spread of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 the Government of the Republic of Slovenia has banned passenger air traffic in Slovenia. The ordinance temporarily bans passenger air traffic from all countries to Slovenia (also from the EU states), until 13 April, 2020. Click here for more information.

In the Summer Timetable the offer of flights from Ljubljana Airport is to be substantially expanded. Currently twelve regular air carriers will be joined by at least five during the summer season: British Airways with flights to London Heathrow, Finnair to Helsinki, Israir Airlines to Tel Aviv, Windrose to Kiev and Iberia to Madrid. Passengers will be able to choose from more than 160 weekly flights to 22 destinations in 15 countries. The volume of charter flights will be comparable to last year's.

Fraport Slovenija has introduced a resolution on the development of transport infrastructure in the vicinity of Ljubljana Airport. The resolution has received support from all six of the neighbouring municipalities in the Gorenjska region.

The year 2019 at the Ljubljana Airport was marked by major changes in traffic structure and extensive investments in airport infrastructure, including breaking ground on the new terminal. We ended 2019 at 1,721,355 passengers, which is down five percent on 2018.

Fraport Slovenija has officially opened the newly renovated and expanded firefighting and rescue service premises at Ljubljana Airport. The service has been at the airport since it opened in 1963.
