Matic joined Fraport Slovenija in 2000, and has since then worked in various areas of ground handling and airport operations. He later transitioned to Airport Operations, first as a Traffic Coordinator and in the next step took on the responsibilities of the Airport Duty Manager. In this role, he was responsible for ensuring continuous safe, efficient and orderly operation of the airport. Heading the workers' council has gained him valuable insight into the perspective of both employees and employer.

In early 2020, he took on the role of Assistant to COO, followed by being appointed as Head of Airport Supervision & Technology, where he actively contributed to the management of the recent health crisis and related measures. He also played a key role in overseeing the start-up of the new passenger terminal in 2021, and the centralization of operational staff planning in its department.
