Wizz Air introduces Skopje flights from Ljubljana Airport

Zg. Brnik, 28. 9. 2023 -  Wizz Air, the fastest growing airline in Europe and the most environmentally sustainable airline globally*, is expanding the flight offer from Ljubljana Airport. Yesterday, on September 27, the airline introduced a new connection to Skopje, that will be operated twice weekly, every Wednesday and Sunday. Skopje is already the 23rd regular flight connection available in the summer schedule from Ljubljana Airport. In the middle of September, the 900,000th passenger took off from Ljubljana Airport. Until the end of the year we expect to handle more than 1.2 million passengers to travel to/from Ljubljana Airport.

Yesterday the low-cost carrier Wizz Air established a new connection from Ljubljana Airport. The carrier will be offering year-round flights  twice per week, every Wednesday and Sunday, operated by a 230-seater Airbus A321. From Ljubljana Airport Wizz Air is also flying to London Luton. Together with the new connection to Skopje, five destinations are offered by low cost carriers. Besides the two already mentioned from Wizz Air, passengers can also choose to fly with Transavia to Amsterdam, Transavia France to Paris and easyJet to London Gatwick.  

Flight tickets to Skopje can be reserved on the airline's website wizzair.com already from EUR 24,99 for one-way ticket.

  • easyJet  up to six times weekly to  London, Gatwick,

  • Wizz Air  three times weekly to  London, Luton  and two times weekly to  Skopje.

AirBaltic  has recently announced to establish a new connection in the next summer schedule. From May 2024 the airline will be flying twice weekly to  Riga  from Ljubljana Airport.   

From January to August, 2023, 832,000 passengers travelled through Ljubljana Airport, which is  32 % more than in comparable period last year. In August, more than 146,000 were handled, almost 20 % more than in August 2022. On September 14, just on the day the new route to Luxembourg was established, already the 900,000th passenger took off from Ljubljana Airport. We expect to handle more than 1,2 million passengers by the end of 2023.
