Ljubljana Airport launches winter schedule with three new destinations

On Sunday, 26 October, the winter flight schedule will take effect, running until 28 March 2026. During this period, passengers at Ljubljana Airport, which has been experiencing significant traffic growth, will be able to fly with 18 scheduled airlines to 21 destinations, including three new additions: Las Palmas (Gran Canaria), Manchester, and Barcelona.

The expanded winter schedule at Ljubljana Airport provides travelers with even more travel options. Wide charter flight offerings

The colder months also bring a wide range of charter destinations. From Ljubljana, passengers can fly directly to visit Santa Claus in Rovaniemi, while trips organized by Slovenian travel agencies will include destinations such as Italy (Apulia), Portugal (Porto, Azores, Madeira), Spain (Mallorca, Gran Canaria), Iceland, Turkey, the Netherlands, Malta, Egypt (Hurghada), and Jordan.

"The winter flight schedule at Ljubljana Airport will feature exciting new destinations that we and our passengers are eagerly anticipating – bringing Barcelona, the Canary Islands, and Manchester closer to us. Connectivity will also improve with more frequent flights compared to last year. The increasingly rich flight offering supports significant traffic growth. We are also pleased that early signals from airlines for the summer season 2026 are positive,"  said  Fraport Slovenija’s Managing Director Dr. Babett Stapel.

Significant traffic growth and positive outlook for 2026

In September, Ljubljana Airport handled over 176,000 passengers, marking a  13% increase  compared to September 2024. In the first nine months of this year, traffic grew by 8.6% compared to the same period last year, with over 1,230,000 passengers recorded. Fraport Slovenija expects to handle  more than 1.5 million passengers by the end of the year.

Early indications from airlines planning the 2026 summer schedule point to a promising season. Vueling will continue flights to Barcelona and easyJet will start flying to  Edinburgh. Connectivity will be further supported by KLM, which will offer an additional (morning) daily flight to Amsterdam. Other carriers, such as Iberia, Aegean Airlines, airBaltic, Finnair, and easyJet, are also expected to increase flight frequencies.
