“At Vueling, we are deeply committed to connecting Europe with Spain, and our new route between Ljubljana and Barcelona is a great example of that. It is the only direct connection between the two cities, and we are proud to make it possible. We are confident this new route will inspire residents of both Ljubljana and Barcelona to discover new cultures and enjoy easier travel between two vibrant and inspiring cities,”  said  Jordi Pla, Chief Network and Strategy Officer at Vueling.

“We are very pleased to welcome Vueling as a new partner at Ljubljana Airport. The long-awaited connection with Barcelona brings more than just new flight options – it also represents an additional opportunity to strengthen economic, tourism and cultural ties between the two countries. We expect the route to be well received both by Slovenian travellers and by visitors from Spain,”  said  Dr. Babett Stapel, Managing Director of Fraport Slovenija.

The new route provides Slovenian passengers with easier access to Vueling’s extensive network, while also opening the door to new visitors from Spain wishing to explore Slovenia.

Vueling is the leading carrier at its main base, Barcelona El Prat Airport, operating a network of around 250 routes year-round. In 2024, the airline performed more than 223,000 flights and carried 38 million passengers, consolidating its position as one of Europe’s leading low-cost carriers.
