Summer charter flight season begins

Zgornji Brnik, 22. maj 2026 –  Ljubljana Airport is entering the height of the summer holiday season with today’s first charter flights to Santorini and Crete. This summer, travelers will again be able to choose from a variety of popular vacation destinations across the Mediterranean and beyond through Slovenian travel agencies.

This year’s charter flight season from Brnik starts with flights to Greece, which continues to be among the most popular holiday choices for Slovenian travellers. Throughout the summer, direct charter flights from Ljubljana Airport will also be available to Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, Montenegro, and Spain, while travel agencies will maintain a selection of additional departures to various European and Mediterranean locations through the end of the year.

Charter flights will be operated by Trade Air, Aegean Airlines, Sky Vision, Nile Air, Air Mediterranean, Nouvelair, and Freebird in cooperation with Slovenian travel agencies Palma, Relax, Intelekta, ETI, and Oasis.

Charter flights remain an essential part of the airport’s summer offering, working alongside scheduled routes to provide passengers with smooth and organized travel options to popular holiday destinations. By the end of the year, around 130,000 passengers are expected in this segment at Ljubljana Airport.

»We are seeing continued strong demand for organized leisure travel in the Slovenian market, which clearly underscores the relevance of our charter offering. Together with Slovenian travel agencies and airline partners, we are able to provide passengers with an attractive and diverse range of destinations across the Mediterranean and beyond. This strong collaboration is reflected not only in the breadth of our summer programme and the expected 130,000 charter passengers, but also in the overall traffic growth of nearly 17% and consistently high levels of customer satisfaction,«  emphasized  Jürgen Deischl, Managing Director of Fraport Slovenija, the operator of Ljubljana Airport.
